Breakwater Parent Association
The Breakwater Parent Association (BPA) is an organization dedicated to enriching the school community by providing support to the faculty, raising funds to support additional Breakwater needs, and sponsoring activities and programs through Community Programs and the Development Office that help strengthen the community.
All parents at Breakwater are part of the Parent Association and play a vital role in the development of the Breakwater community. Parent involvement benefits the school and provides an opportunity to develop new relationships. Whether it is helping out on a one time basis with an event, or on a regular basis, the goal is to get most (if not all) parents involved while taking work schedules into consideration.
The BPA is lead by Co-Chairs Kristin Schardt, Ellen Barton and Chandra Waitkevitch (contact information can be found in the school directory). The Co-Chairs meet regularly with the Head of School, the Board, and the Faculty, to ensure continuity with other Breakwater initiatives.
The BPA has developed into an association that manages many different programs. In an attempt to provide more volunteer opportunities and to help support the many different initiatives, we have developed a structure that includes committees and coordinators in addition to other volunteer opportunities.
If you are interested in finding out how you can become involved, please consider attending one of our monthly meetings or contact us directly.
